Implementation – Gesture Animations During Speech (Unreal Engine 5)

For this feature, I added subtle body and head movements to the MetaHuman to make the character appear more natural and expressive while speaking.

Animation Approach

I used existing idle and gesture animations (hands, arms, and head movements) suitable for speaking states.

The animations were intentionally kept subtle to avoid distracting from lip-sync and facial animations.
